Run by a local couple, Gunther and Lena, this special house was built many years ago and is lovingly preserved to this day. The double rooms have a special cozy atmosphere, with exposed ceiling beams, whitewashed walls, and original alcove windows. It feels as if you’re visiting your Danish grandmother’s country home (in the best way possible!)
However, the real star of the show is the beautiful gardens and glass gazebo, where you can enjoy a delicious home cooked breakfast. Made from fresh and local ingredients, guests rave about the hosts’ cooking skills and hospitality.
One important thing to note is that the bathrooms are separate from the actual room, and you’ll need to walk across the courtyard to get there. However, the stay at this country house is well worth it!
Fjordhygge – Luxurious Log House

Located less than an hour’s drive from Aarhus, the Rane Ladegaard complex consists of four various-sized traditional Danish farmhouses. The beautiful and historic houses have been lovingly restored and converted into guesthouses.
The smallest is a one-bedroom studio, and after that there is an apartment with two bedrooms; an apartment with three bedrooms; and finally a 5-bedroom holiday house.

Best of all, Rane Ladegaard is an excellent destination for both summer and winter — they take reservations all year round!
